Stop for a moment and reflect. You're looking for an inexpensive way to advertise and market your web presence, and either you have spent a fortune on ad agencies which promised you a huge return on your money but seriously underdelivered, you are spending a fortune on pay-per-click search engines and not getting the high page ranking you desire for the money you've paid (or you're being outbid by advertisers with deep pockets) or you are a small-time businessperson or internet marketer who's looking for an inexpensive way to drive traffic to your site and get inbound links to raise your page rank, thereby making your site more desireable to the major search engines (Google, Yahoo, MSN).
So you may be asking, why should I by ad space here? From you?
Well, I'll be honest. I got the idea for selling ad space on my site from a recent development which occurred in the United Kingdom. You see, some kid was looking for extra cash and got this crazy idea that he would set up a website and charge money for advertisers to buy space on it just as an experiment. He called it "The Million Dollar Homepage." What made his idea crazy was the fact that he charged space by the pixel; i.e., he would set up 10 pixel by 10 pixel blocks and charge a dollar per block. (This is the actual size of the pixel block
they sold on their
site.) Of course, he was hoping that advertisers would buy several blocks on his
page to post an image link back to their respective websites.Well, he managed to get a few of his buddies and friends to buy a few pixel blocks on his site in the intial three weeks or so, and even managed to get a few hundred dollars out of it. Some local advertisers bought pixel space on the site as a joke, expecting to just lose their chump change, but when they noticed that the number of visitors to their sites jumped up dramatically, some even tripling or quadrupling their normal web traffic, they realized that they had stumbled onto a virtual goldmine. Soon, they were telling their friends about the website, and they told their friends, and soon thousands of pixels were purchased, allowing this kid with the crazy idea to make over a million dollars in just over four months. Before long, there were copycat sites, and while some of them managed to make a quick buck here and there, others were lowering their prices to a quarter a pixel, a dime a pixel, or even a penny a pixel. Some of them even gave away pixel ads.
So you're probably wondering, "Is this guy going to do the same thing these other people are doing?" Well, yes and no. Yes, in that I have extra space on my pages to sell pixel ads, but no, I am not selling pixel ads that people cannot read or tell what image is on it. If you took time to visit "The Million Dollar Homepage" listed above, you'll notice that the page itself looked like a billion little images which just cluttered up the page haphazardly. While this may be interesting to look at for a few minutes, no one wants to see a page of only ads, especially ones which are hard to see.
So what's my angle? If you look up at the upper left corner of this page, you'll notice that the ads are much larger than the pixel ads on that other page. The other thing that's different about my site is that it is has useful information and content. In fact, it is primarily an information site and not just a quickly "thrown-together" link site. However, like most content sites on the web that deal with information, after setting up their tables with useful site links and Google AdSense at the left side of the page and the content on the right side, much of the space on the left side of the page is left blank. That is also true of my site as well. After seeing what this other person did, I thought I shouldn't just let my extra space go to waste, so I am setting up this special opportunity for you, the prospective advertiser.
Instead of buying some tiny pixel ad
which no one can see
without a magnifying glass, I am offering you a 100 by 100 pixel ad (10,000 pixels)
on my empty margin space for the follwing introductory price:$50 per block.
For this price, you get to submit an image ad [GIF or JPEG (JPG)] with a link back to your site, and it will stay up on the page permanently, or as long as your site is active on the web (no expired links or domains). However, be aware that when you buy a block or blocks, you will not own any part of the homepage or this site, but rather you are granted the right to submit an image and link which will then be published on the page in the space you have paid for.
Images must be the exact size you have paid for (eg. 10,000 pixels = 100x100 pixels). Images cannot be animated. You cannot change the image or link once you have submitted them, so you must be sure of the image and link you want on the homepage. The only exception is if you have a strong reason why you need a change to your image/link, e.g. your site no longer exists, major structural change, etc. There are no refunds if your image and link are accepted and published on the homepage. There are no refunds if you want your image and link removed from the homepage; the space will become publicly available again. (For instance, you may choose to remove your ad if you have reached your goal of offering 1,000 items to first responders.)
It is our discretion to determine what links are appropriate to be placed on these pages. However, the following content links and image ads are prohibited on any of these pages:
Obscene or offensive adult images or content
Links to offensive content aimed at any racial, ethnic, gender, religious or other social group (i.e., hate sites)
Links to any content advocating or encouraging illegal activity
Links to illegal hacks, cracks, warez or pirated goods sites
Links to unauthorized mp3, ogg, video or torrent sites
Links to copyrighted material not authorized by the copyright owner
(Note: If you want to post an ad for a site with mature themes, please send me your site information prior to making any purchase. Since this site deals with mature themes, I will not automatically prohibit any links to mature-themed content, but the links must comply with the terms listed above.)
Links must be to web pages only and begin with http://
You must have authority to provide the image and link for the website submitted.
Funds must be received and cleared before your pixels go live on the homepage. There might be occasional downtime for site maintenance. Once you have ordered and the funds have cleared, we will work to get your ad online within 72 hours; thanks in advance for your patience.
